He discovered his passion for mountaineering when he lived in Argentina, where he trained as a mountain guide at the AAGM. He has been climbing, guiding, organizing and planning trips through different countries of the continent for 15 years. He has great experience in mountains over 6000 m high, including the highest such as Aconcagua, Ojos del Salado, Huascaran and Sajama. Being on the move, spending as much time as possible outdoors, climbing mountains and discovering new places are all part of his outlook on life.
His trade as a guide has also led him to work in different therapeutic communities.
Willi is an open and happy person who likes to laugh. His prudent and patient attitude, his sensitive approach to people and his tireless efforts for the well-being of his guests inspire security and confidence. Willi resides in Cusco Peru.
JUAN CARLOS BRICEÑO
Felix Kraus
PATAGONIA EXPERT AND LEADE GUIDE
Languages: German, Spanish and English
Having spent one and a half years on the road traveling all around South America, Felix, together with his life companion and then 3-year-old daughter eventually ended up deciding to stay and try to make a living in this remote corner of the Chilean Patagonia instead of going back to Germany. In the meantime, his son was born and makes for the only real Patagón in the family.
For the past couple of years Felix has been guiding trips on foot and horseback all around Patagonia, but also in the Atacama Desert and the Bolivian Altiplano.
Felix describes this place as: Vast stretches of almost untouched wilderness next to the Northern Icefield and the still intact, openhearted and very inspiring Gaucho culture make this part of the Aysén region not only a beautiful place to live but also one of the most spectacular places to explore on foot, horseback or even on ski.
Felix is fluent in German, English and Spanish and is a Wilderness First-Responder.
